  1. Hi,

Quick question....I set my Chapters on my move and then .I use the Scene selection Wizard to generate menus....After I have finished my DVD and burn the Menus always come out in reverse order.....I have tried to Manuall draw a line from the root menu to chapter menu one, to chapter menu two and then to chapter menu three......Even this has not worked.....I am wonderingif I actually reverse the order on connections screen if it will work?

Has any one had this probelm?

Has any one fixed this problem

    Any help appreciated?

  2. I wouldn't know to be honest..........I always make my own menus. I distrust ANYTHING with the word "wizard" in it.

  3. But if you make your own menus...Do you set your Chapters in the movie (Assume this is DV) and then make thumbnails?.....and if thats the case how do you do one chapter per thumbnail as oppsoed to rendering?

    Thanks

What do you mean by "reversed"? Are the chapter pictures reversed (i.e. they start on the right and go left, instead of going left to right?), or are the pictures ok but the actual links to the chapters themselves are reversed (i.e. you have a picture for chapter 1 but the link takes you to chapter 6, and the picture for chapter 2 takes you to chapter 5?)... I've used the wizard before and never had any problems..... Please provide more information, and we'll try to help.

To make one chapter for each thumbnail you right click on the thumbnail, then choose Link, and then you can choose which chapter of which movie you want the link to take you...

  6. Thanks for the HelP!

To be more specific on my problem what I mean by Chapters are reversed is that I use the Scen Wizard to Generate Chapter Menus ( I know this isnt the bst way)....on my last movie I had 11 Chapters and I chose a Template with 4 thumbnails per screen, so I had three chapter menu screens. I labled the first screen with Chap 1-4. Second Screen Chap 5-9, and third menu Chap 10-11...so I know which the correct order would come out.

I then rendered each menu (the last step before compiling) and then compiled...when I burned and then put it in my DVD player and whent to the Chapter Link (Which I set up from my root menu) the first Chapter scrreen was Chap 10-11 and the buttons when in reverse order (Chap 5-9 was the next screen and 1-4 was the last ( I was using the Menu buttons to navigate......)

So i tried drawing a manual link from Chap Chap menu 1, to 2, to 3...then compile and had the same problem....

The one thing is that when I check the connection screen ...it has them in the right order....just when compiling something goes wrong
    Does that make any sense?

Hmm. That is very odd. Is this happening when you play the authored DVD files with a software DVD player (such as PowerDVD), or in your set-top player? Or both? Have you tried changing the menu connections to the reverse order? I.e. make the chapter menu 3 (with chapters 10 and 11) be the first menu, then chapter menu 2, then chapter menu 1, so they are in reverse order? Just trying to think of a work around until a solution can be found......

Also, what version of DVD-Lab are you using?

  8. Try this.
After importing a movie and dragging it to the Movie1 timeline, goto Movie, Auto-Chapters. Choose your options and then click OK. After DVD lab has done its thing, goto Menu, Add Scene Selection. Choose one of the Default template. Click Ok and yes to the dialog box that pops up. Next navigate to Menu1 and in the Project windows on your left, left click and drag Movie1 to the right into Menu1. Do the same for Scenes 1 for Movie1 ie drag into Menu1. You should then have 2 boxes in Menu 1. Using the text tool to enter Play Movie for Box 1 and Scenes Selection for Box 2.
Test using the simulation (under Menu, Simulate) to test. If OK then compile and test with PowerDVD or WinDVD.
    Did it work out?

I am having problems with 1.4 beta2 as well.
Sigh! In my case, the compiling completed without error but the final project was rejected by Nero. Used other programs to burn and the final DVD was not watchable. Using DVD Shrink on the files yielded errors. After some trouble shooting, found that it would compile to a working DVD if I do not add any chapters to the movie!
Going back to the older version for the time being.

  12. I have used version 1.3 under Win XP and it works fine for me. Have you tried the method I suggested above using the default template? Does it work for you?

  13. K,,

This is the Best Part.....I fixed the problem....it seems when you link the Chapter Menus to the Main Menu Chapter Button...you have to go in the reverse order of what you want......

When I linked Page 1,2 and tehn three...DVD lab thought since Page three was last I wpuld want to see it first....

SO i linked page 3,2 then 1 and it workded fine!!!!!!!

    Thanks For all the help......
