  1. i'm not sure if this falls under the "warez" rules, but its news.

DNAS (Dynamic Network Authentication System) has been cracked.
DNAS is a scheme used by Sony to prevent copies from being played online. its been out about 8 months..

i really hated dnas because i had to use my originals to play online. i actually scratched my madden 2004 disc, i wound up exchanging it in a blockbuster rental. this wouldnt have happened if i were using a backup.

it took me about 2 hours & 3 dvd-r's to figure out how to do it.. but it actually went online.. i'm kinda shocked..

  3. i dont see why not. you cant use a "real" modchip to get online through. swap methods are the only thing thats working..

i was able to get online with mvp baseball 2004, i'll be trying mlb 2005 in a little while..

Since DNAS checks the game and this chip and you cant use a modchip then is this only half way cracked?

But none the less the is great information for those that use swap methods and want to play online with their backups instead of the originals. (its a lot more thant what we could do before)

Just found out someone got this to work with a game using the messiah 2mod
This wont work for most modchips and its not verified that it will work with messiah 2 for every DNAS game.

About as "underhanded" as any other encryption method as used by numerous other content providers to protect their "copyrighted" material...

    Just my $0.02..
