    A friend of mine give me a PAL miniDV tape to convert into a VCD. Unfortunately I own a camcorder which operates on NTSC.

    Somehow, I give it a try and it works.
    Is it going to do harm to my camcorder or it just gonna be fine?

    "SOME" camcorders are switchable....not very likely....but there may be a semi-buried menu option somewhere on yours. Just something to look into.
