writing to blank dvd r/w problem

hello
im new to this forum so this is probably a silly question to ask
i use sonic record now dx for writing to disks, cdr disks are fine but when trying to write to blank dvds i have a problem, sonic record now dx reads the disk i wish to make a copy of no problem but when i put the blank disk in the computer just keeps asking for blank disk to be inserted
what am i doing wrong?

Possibly media have you tried more than 1 brand
A friend of mine has a BTC DVD-Writer and it wouldn't read Bulkpaq Orange , but fine with other brands.

Are you trying to copy a CDR to a DVDR or put hard drive files on a DVD. What media are you using and has it been formated if it's an RW. Can you format an RW with record now of have you tried it.
