The other day I ripped a couple DVDs using SmartRipper. I now have the IFO/VOB Files.
Got a DVD burner now, and I now see why I should have used DVD Shrink.
What can I do with these IFO/VOB files - so I can get them to fit on a DVDR? Any guides? I just have the IFO/VOBs, no VIDEO_TS or anything.
Thanks!

Nothing wrong with SmartRipper. Create the VIDEO_TS folder yourself and move all the IFO/VOB files there. If it fits a DVDR burn with whatever burning application you use. If not, compress with DVD Shrink first (or any other application you may prefer). It can open the VIDEO_TS folder from your HD too, not just from a DVD drive.

You could also get Nero SmartStart and use that..
just go into DVd and go to Burn DVD Video files
Then when it opens, open the RED video folder, and put ALL the VBO and IFO files in.. then just burn.. easy -
My files are:
vts_01_0.ifo
vts_01_1.vob thru vts_01_5.vob
its only 4.3GB so it'll fit on a DVDR without shrinking.
when I start nero, it says 'compliance test failed, may not play back' or whatever that message is, and says that its missing the VIDEO_TS.IFO and the other 2 required files, would this matter for me?
Thanks! -
Sorry, when you said no VIDEO_TS I thought you meant no VIDEO_TS folder and assumed you had the files in a different folder.
The VIDEO_TS.IFO file is required on a DVD-VIDEO compliant disc so that's why Nero's complaining. The other one is the VIDEO_TS.BUP file but that's just a copy of the first with a different extension. You need to rip (or just simply copy; IFO files are not encrypted) these two files before you can burn.
