    Hey guys,
I used DVD decrypter to rip some tv shows off some dvds and now i have a bunch of VOB/IFO files.

I can play these in Media Player Classic fine and i could encode it to avi. But my question is if i want to keep the quality the same without any loss what should i convert it to and what should i use to convert it. Or should i just keep it the way it is?

And i can rename the vob files to mpeg and play them, should i just do that? If so, what is the point of the ifo files?

    Thanks in advance.

If you want to keep them as mpeg files, use VOB2MPG to do it properly. Just renaming them may not give you playable files.

If you want to keep the quality high, use Xvid4PSP and convert them to H264 mp4/mkv files. They will be around 25% of the size, and still look good.
