Hi pals,
I have been reading on the DVD ripping guides and find them very, very efficient and helpful to a noob . I would like to let yo'all know that I appreciate it and kudos to all those who expedite information to those who wanna get some direction.
anyways, this is my situation: to rip DVDs and convert them to SVCD I use dvd decrypter -> DVD2AVI -> and finally load the project file in TMPGENC and select svcd. works perfectly fine even when there is any audio delay. Never needed to look to anything else for almost 2 years since i have been using it uptil recently.
NOW, this is what I want do:
I use mainconcept mpeg encoder. one possible route is rip DVD in file mode via DVD decrypter -> load in virtualdub (mpeg2 mod) and then frame serve to mainconcept encoder.works perfectly fine too. good quality, uses less hdd space and finally its 15-20% faster than tmpgenc.
BUT here is the problem:
In some DVD's there is only one AC3 audio stream. Mainconcept encoder will not detect that AC3 stream. Also it will not correctly recognize a .VOB file lenght. So I load it in virtualdub (mpeg2 MOD) and install the AC3 decompressor from FCChandler. the problem in that is that the frameserved file will not have the audio in the stream. So its no good to me. I tried some commercial tools that will extract the AC3 and convert it into .WAV but when I input it in encoder, the output file's audio will not be syncronized. the first route with DVD2AVI comtaining AC3 or DTS audio stream with tmpgenc, it was good and no audio sync problems. So can anybody help?
