Every time I try to backup a film using DVD Shrink, I get an error, saying that it could not read the file, and the sector is encrypted. This happens whilst the disc is being analysed at the start. I don't think there's anything wrong with my discs, I've backed them up before without any problems, although I have since reinstalled my operating system, so i'm wondering if there's a setting I need to change?

Also, perhaps more importantly, I have also upgraded my burner to a Pioeer 107 since I last backed them up.

Try playing the DVD first in WinDVD or PowerDVD, then load DVDShrink.
If that doesn't work, rip to the HDD first with DVD Decrypter. -
This sometimes happens to me aswell..
i find if you reboot and wait a while then after a few tries it will work..
i know it dosnt sound too practical, but it does work... -
