How do i make a full screen into widescreen?

Ok.... well i just recieved Band of Brothers from a friend (he had a tv in and out) But the size is in a 320x240 and i would like to add the black bars or change it into widescreen. (standard widescreen) How would i do this with TMPGenc. to create a VCD. Can someone help me??

If you change the ratio from full screen to wide screen, the image will look squashed. Why do you want to change the aspect ratio?

ShiZZZoN- you're right, you cannot make it true widescreen since you do not have the additional video data to show up

widescreen shows more video horizontally.

if you want bars on top n bottom to make people think its wide screen, or if you have encoded a movie with visible blocks and u wanna make the vid smaller on your tv to prevent blocks from showing up, then yea go ahead and use widescreen

Use 4:3 display in the advanced tab of settings of TMPGEnc keep as 1:1 or 4:3 525 NTSC in video tab

okay, i see the point of changing widescreen to fullscreen..

but what the hell is the point of changing fullscreen to widescreen?
