I wouldn't waste my money on either of them. Search eBay for a deal on a tuner card with a BT chipset. I bought another (used) one a few weeks ago for ten bucks, shipping included.

The ATi A.I.W has good reviews from most here. I don't use one but I am sure there are many here who can help.

I don't think the Snazzle product you mention is truely a hardware encoder.
A couple of reviews said you need a lot of horsepower to do direct MPEG-2 DVD spec captures.
My guess is that it might be a hardware DV converter but not a full time hardware MPEG-1/MPEG-2 converter.
The Hauppauge WinTV PVR-250 is a full hardware MPEG-1/MPEG-2 encoder and will work on a PIII ... even a fast PII with proper amount of RAM
So I don't don't trust it (i.e., the Snazzle).
As for the Dazzle product ... well I've heard mostly poor things about that as well.
If you want a full hardware MPEG-1/MPEG-2 capture device your best bet is the Hauppauge WinTV PVR-250 which is not perfect but really is the best in the money range you are looking at. You can order it on-line for around $125 to $130 USD

the older dazzle dvc 2 (pci card version) was pretty nice (and worked flawlessly with a tbc), but as things go, that version is no longer made anymore, but you can capture straight to mpeg 2 and it does a very nice job.
