I have just fitted a Pioneer 107. Is it worthwhile upgrading the firmware? Can this damage the drive?

I have upgraded mine, and so far after about a 100 burns using Ritek G04(burns at 8X no problems)and TDK 2x(burns at 6x no problem). If I burn the TDK 2x at 8x, have problems over 4 gigs.

Right I've done it from the flashman site using the xp zip file. It still shows firmware 1.05. Is this right?

Bodyslide I do not understand your last but one posting: I said it is still showing 1.05 and you said "correct 1.10". That doesn't make sense unless I'm being thck./ Should it be 1.05 or 1.10?

The firmware shows 1.10, I edited the post to not confuse folks. Sorry. After you upgrade the firmware it shows Version 1.10. It only shows it burning at 2X however the TDK media will burn at 6X.
