Hi, does anybody know anything about Pinnacle Impresion DVD-Pro and whether or not it has previous/alternate versions? I have been searching for awhile now for programs that can make still menus as well as selectable subtitles. Looks like I've finally found it. Please give your opinions on this if you've used it!

Yes, it IS buggy. But I still use it occasionally.

It is still the cheapest software that you can buy that supports MULTI-ANGLE video. (If another one becomes available even CLOSE to it's price range, LET ME KNOW!)

What do you guys mean by buggy? I hope I can still create a perfectly good DVD since it is my first try.

    Examples:

Assets that you add in Project A will also be present in Project B when you create a "new" project.

Menus often don't remember timeout settings (e.g. "5 sec" vs. "Infinity")

"Return" doesn't always work the way you would expect it to.

Add an MPEG video to the timeline. Then Add an AC3 audio to the timeline. CRASH! This can be gotten around by saving after EVERY manipulation.

There are a few others, but those are the ones that bother me the most.

(and yes, I do have the most up-to-date version)

    Depends...

    Do you need Multi-angle video?

If not, TDA, Encore, or DVDLab (or others) probably can do what you want with much less hassle and probably support AC3.

    If so, good luck.

Nope, no multi-angle video. I just need selectable subtitles and some trailer clips that can be activated by using still menus that I created in Photoshop.

DVD Lab says it can use Photoshop menus but doesn't say anything about subtitles. TMPGenc DVD Author, don't know about that one. And Encore is just plain expensive...

It does subtitles? How come it doesn't say? Do you know how long the trial lasts?
