No, none are sold in the UK, only everywhere else. Try a Google search for 8X DVD media; That may give you a few sources. 8X is still new, so it takes some looking. DVDRW 8X, no not likely. RW media will always be slower than R+ or R-.

    Which 8X burner do you have? Some 8X burner's will make 4X media burn @ 8X. I have a Plex 708A and I buy TDK and Verbatim 4X +R and they burn @ 8X

When you say it takes an 1/2 hour to burn, are you talking from ripping and burning being total time of a 1/2 hour or just the burn part? What is the name of the burner?

  6. Weird.. we had 8x media out several months before 8x burners
were available even in Japan. There must not be sufficient demand
in the UK for such media - strange!

Everything with Ritek R03 dye is 8x.

  8. Concerning 8x media. Does anyone know if there is any real difference in results or quality of a DVD burn doing a 4x media burning at 8x speed vs burning using "True" 8x media?

    Thanks

  9. I've seen posts from people scanning with kprobe which says that there's a peak in p1/p2 errors on the disk where the writer changes speed (not that there's read errors).
