  1. Hi everyone, this is my 1st post so take it easy with me! hope this is the right section.
My problem: I do a little home editing (holidays etc) from my camcorder. I use Pinnacle 8. My P.C. is a little old using win98!!! so I only do short length films to avoid any problems.
Once done I burn them onto a dvd in udf format.
    So far i have 5 films on 5 dvd's.
I have loaded them all onto my hard drive.
I want to join them together onto 1 dvd. I have tried using Nero 6 and gone through the udf/rom sequence and dragged all the vob files across into the VIDEO_TS folder.
I burn't this and all seemed well, but when played on my dvd stand alone player it plays the 1st film ok but freezes half way through the 2nd!
Burn't a 2nd dvd and the same happened.
Can anyone help with this? Is there a better program I could use?

  2. Well...I'll tell you right now people are gonna ask you for more info, like what DVD Burner do Have? What type of DVD Media did you use. Really if it played the first movie fine then why would it be how the data was formatted on the DVD? I dont know enough about UDF format to truly say but it could be a number of things: Bad Authoring, bad writer, bad media...etc. But I think I can tell what your problem is...I think.

You cant just drag .vobs into nero and expect them to play properly in the correct order you put them in (I'm surprised anything played at all using this method). DVD's are comprised of titlesets and each of these titlesets have vob ID numbers, and to my limited knowledge they have to correspond in some way.

    Try this:

    1. Rip the movies to your HD

    2. Use DVD Shrink and use the re-author mode to create a new DVD file structure.

    3. Then burn that with Nero.

I'm not going to explain step by step how to do it, as there are plenty of guides on this site and very specific ones on www.dvdshrink.info

    good luck!
Look, let me explain something. I'm not Mr. Lebowski; you're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. That, or Duder. His Dudeness. Or El Duderino, if, you know, you're not into the whole brevity thing--

  3. Just a quick thank you to caseycomb for pointing me in the right direction.

I've played around with dvd shrink and managed to join my films together.

    Once again thank you
