  1. Whats the best thing i can do to ensure my DVDs i will be selling through my website (i am producing a skateboarding movie) will be compatible with most if not all DVD players. I was wondering if i could offer some way for the potential buyer to do a test to see if my DVDs would be compatible with their DVDplayer or not, for example would it possible to offer some sort of file on my website people could download and burn to CD then play in their DVD player and if this played ok it would mean my DVDs im selling would also play ok? Thanks

Shell out some coin to have a production house press your movie on DVD-5s or DVD-9s.

The only real way they can test compatibility is for them to play the burned dvd on their dvd player. The way to be sure that they play on any dvd player is to send a master dlt to a dvd replication site to get the dvds pressed but that involves a fair amont of money and copies

DVD-ROM can be read in any drive or player. It's the writable formats that have compatibility issues. There are no compatibility issues with DVD-ROM.

dvdr's are rom. but anyways, use dvd-r, so far they have higher compatibilty than +r. but if anybody has really bought their player in the last few years it really doesnt matter most newer players read either way

best thing to do is SAY on your website that it's a DVD-R, then if they can't play it ask what model they have, check the dvdplayer list over <-------------------there and burn to an appropriate disc.

or alternatively say "tough, screw you. i did say it was a DVD-R"
