  1. I'm trying to back up a damaged commercial dvd, vob3 has a problem that stops every ripper that I have tried. I seem to remember that a solution was posted on this board but I can't find it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Nyah Levi

Have you tried a different reader?

I find that my Lite On 165s reads better than my 166s. Some readers have a better lense/ECC ability.

If it fails to read all the way in anything-

You can use DVD Decrypter in file mode, when it encounters an error you can choose to skip that sector. You'd have to run IFO Edit afterwards to get VTS Sectors, since the sector count wouldn't be the same. There will be a chirp/glitch in the skipped part, but it will play.

  3. Yes, I've tried several different readers, DVDDecrypter will skip several sectors and then lock up. Thanx for the quick reply. Nyah Levi
