Hi everybody!.
Does anyone know if the GSA 4040B could burn new dual layer DVD media? One should upgrtade the firmware or... buy a new writer??

Most likely buy a new drive...don´t think you can get anything for free nowadays. Besides, the gsa 4040b has only 4x writespeed.; I´ve read somewhere that if there were to come out a firmware for DL-burning (which I strongly doubt), the drive would have to be capable of 8x burning (something to do with a stronger laser).
I own a GSA-4040b too, so I´m as dissappointed as you will propably be..."This is true in all walks of life: Man takes care of the quantity, woman the quality."
