as far as i can tell, this site is useless. all the guides i have used ask for a file i dont have. no body knows what video_ts.inf is, copytodvd guide dont say anything about it. ive asked, searched, posted and i havent learned anything new. how hard is it to take a mpeg file and make it ready to burn as dvd? im posting this for no real reason, nobody ever responds anyway

If you have an mpeg file you need to make sure it is DVD compliant which means using an encoder like TMPGenc PLus .
This creates 2 files one is a m2v video file and one is a wav audio file.
These then need to be authored using authoring software i.e. TMPGenc DVD Author to create a VIDEO_TS folder which you can then burn with burning software.
That is a very simplified version of events.
A couple of points reguarding your previous posts - Virtualdub is for editing AVI files not MPEGs . Your post reguarding your burner was answered , the concensus seemed to be that your bundled software conflicted with Nero , Your question about .INF was answered . And you last few posts were in the last hour or so . If you want to do video editing it requires a lot of patience , you sometimes have to wait a while for replies but they will come.
I have been doing this for a while now and I didn't know whay an .INF was until I read your posts .

Dude, pull your head outta your ass and do some more reading.
There are many, many ways to author an MPEG. You don't HAVE to use CopyToDVD.
Have you tried other software ? TMPGEnc DVD Author perhaps ?If in doubt, Google it.

You make it when you author your dvd(making the dvd structure and optional menus, chapters...). Copytodvd can only burn, so use an author tool as jimmalenko says.
