  1. Searching the Conversion guides hasn't helped me since there are no topics related to this. I'm using multiple packages, Premiere 6.01, Nero 6.x (full), Sonic DVD, TMPGE, and various audio, but can't seem to convert a 'raw' SVCD mpeg file to DVD. I had created the file using TMPGE several years ago, only to complete the conversion, not the burning process, so it's an output file from an early (free) version of TMPGE that's about 550 megabytes. Now I can't convert that baby to DVD format using anything I have. I can take it back up to DV using Premiere exporting, but I lose the audio. I'm just now getting back to editing again, having time on my hands and I'm a bit rusty on everything. Is there an easier way that I'm missing? Thanks,

If it's a standard SVCD it uses 480x480 resolution which is DVD illegal.
You can author it to DVD with IFOEDIT. Use it's DVD Author option.
Demux the SVCD into it's m2v and mp2 streams. Rename the mp2 to mpa. IFOEDIT will author from the 480x480 and it will author from the audio which is 44100 sampled,DVD requies 48000 sample rate. IFOEDIT will author because it makes no compliance checks. Burn it to an RW disk to be certain your DVD player can handles the 44100 audio.

  3. thanks.....I guess it might be easier to just burn it as an SVCD. My current DVD player won't play SVCD, so I burned it as both VCD and SVCD thinking I could convert it to DVD after I had gotten a DVD/RW drive. I could go back and re-edit the entire year's worth of video in DV format, then I'd be ok, but I'll give it a go with infoedit. I'd like to be able to create a chapter on one DVD with multiple others using Nero, but it sounds like I won't be able to do that.
