  1. i have doownloaded a movie off of kazaa whichi is 700mb, but then when i used the software which came with my burner called sonic my dvd (sony player) and it said that i had 4.7gb left on the disc but when i add the file which was 700mb it said i ad -500mb left onthe disc, i dont get why this is considering i have 4700mb free and the file is only 700mb. Do i need to compres the file or something, if so can u tell me how or provide me some better software. Much appreciated

    The problem is that you're comparing dvd data to dvd video. Pirated movies are almost always released in a format other than dvd compliant video, which is mpeg2. You probably have a divx/xvid file which is a lot smaller than mpeg2, but is not dvd video compliant. When your software tries to burn the data file that you give it as video, it first has to convert it to the less-compressed mpeg2 format. Essentially, you're uncompressing the video to burn it, not compressing it. Find out what kind of file you have and search for guides on how to convert it to dvd.
