All I get is a black (NOT blank) screen when I try to play a DVD. I see the programs splash screen and chapters numbers, but only black.
I installed Blaze DVD and then Power DVD. Neither wil play the DVD. Durning the Power DVD saetup the test didn't return anything on the screen just as trying to play a DVD in the player.

    Is this missing codecs?

    The system is 2k w/sp4 & DX9 installed with a ATI 9100 (8500LE) DVI card to a 19" Planar LCD monitor.

The same player, DVD and programs work fine on a older box (same O/S).

Be sure to set your monitor to Primary monitor under Display Properties->Settings in Windows.

Or does this only happens to dvd video?

I installed Power DVD first and I couldn't do the diagnostic at all.
I then installed Blaze DVD and that didn't work at all.
I tried running the diagnostic from Power DVD again and it worked (no idea why, no changes were made, nothing added). The profram played the DVD.
I went back to Blaze DV, but found it still doesn't work (black screen).

This is a orginal DVE disc that plays ok elsewhere.
BTW, no, I didn't uninstall Blaze DVD and reinstall it again before someone asks.........
