    hello...
    this is my 1 post... and i am from denmark... i am 17 years old.. so my english may not be perfect....

    here is my deal.... :

    my goal is to Burn a avi file (dvdrip,xvid, about 699 mb) and i want to burn it on a dvd+rw.... is that possible ?

    and then watch the movie on a dvd-player that supports dvd+rw....

    cause my dvd-burner supports dvd+rw....

    the dvd-player does not support divx or xvid...

    so of coure i have to convert it....

    but to what ?? svcd ???

    i would like to burn it on a dvd+rw media....


    is my dream possible ??

    Yes, it is very possible. The way I do this:

    1. Use TMPGEnc Plus to convert the AVI file into an .m2v and .mp2 file.

    2. Change the file extension of the mp2 file to .mpa.

    3. Open IfoEdit, select DVD Author-->Author new DVD.

    4. Load the .m2v file into video and the .mpa file into audio. Name the target directory. Select OK

    5. Use Nero to burn the files in my target directory into a new DVD.

    if you are using the wizard, select output video and audio as elemantary streams under step 5.

    if you are not using the wizard, select es(video + audio) under stream type.

    es= elementary streams.

    ohh... i would like to use the guide... cause it easy for me......

    'In the first menu i have 3 choises....

    Video-CD

    Super Video-Cd

    DVD

    What i have to use ?

    Since you live in Europe choose one of the PAL choices.

    i have decided that its going to be :
    PAL or
    PAL ( 16 : 8 ) <- will the program change the orginal video aspect ??

    What i have to chose ?

    And when i have chosen on of then,,, then there olso is a sub menu down at the right corner....

    what i have to chose there ??

    CBR or VBR ??? and so on...

  9. there are a ton of guides on how to convert avi's to mpg. I would suggest that you read up on some of the conversion guides instead of asking people to walk you through each step of the process.
