Auto GK might be a better option for you. I've never tried it myself but I have read some really good things about it. I'm not aware of a guide for Dr. Divx but feel free to ask any specific questions you have(you did this in a broad sense).

  3. well i used auto gk and it opens up virtual dub for encoding but after ages of doin it it crashes when it's time to mux the audio and deletes all it did, dr divx worx fine i guess as far as i've tried
i have many questions on options and what effect they'll have as in Dr. Divx's Advanced Settings:

    1. Bit-rate modulation ,high motion / low motion (what's that and what effect will it have?)

    2.psychovisual enhancement?
    3.preprocessing?
    4.max keyframe interval?
    5.scene change threshold?
6.number of passes and what effect would changin it have?
7.what will changin the frame rate do alos?

    thnx a million

  6. OK...sorry...you have to most likely experiment to get best settings. This is a link to a pdf document that deals mainly with the codec itself and explains a lot of the settings and their functions.

    Check this out.

EDIT: I didn't see your post, ripnburn. Your link is probably much more comprehensive. In fact I'm getting it as I type.
