how did you get them into your PC in the first place? reason being you'll need some way to convert the digital back to analog on the hardware side in addition to the software. so the way it went in might be reversed to get it out.

one way if you have a way to convert firewire to analog (e.g. advc100 or maybe a camcorder with a passthru), you need software that has a 'print to tape' function..scenalyzer I think has this along w/ other editing programs (e.g. studio has it, vegas, & probably others). You would 'print to tape' your avi's which would play them out thru firewire then your camcorder passthru or advc100 would conver them to analog to be recorded.

one other way to do it would be if you have a video card that has an svideo or composite video (yellow) output. You could hook up your VCR / camcorder input to that. Then, you would need something to play your avi on the PC and you would record that same thing directly off your video card. The drawback here is that whatever's on the screen would be recorded so you would need some software to play your video in full-screen mode.

how did you do the captures?

  3. well my friend did the captures at his house with his equipment.

i use adobe premiere which has the "print to tape" feature i think that'll work.

but what hardware do you recommed?

  4. I can't really give you a 'recommendation' on hardware as I don't really know enough about what other equip. you have, if you will be doing this again (vs. one time), budget, etc. These all play into how you would do this.

Do you have a video card w/ composite (or s) video out?

Do you have a DVD burner on your pc that if you burned a dvd and put it in a regular dvd player you could record to you vcr off that?
