  1. Hi All:

I have a situation I need help with. I have encoded a movie file with TMPGEnc Plus and everything went as it was supposed to, it created a MPEG-2 file. I then edited in PMPGEnc Author and the program created the TS files. When I tryed to copy the files down to a DVD I recieved this message "INVALID UNIT #".

I Don't know what this means! I've gone through the manules for both encoding and authoring and have found nothing pretaining to unit #. Is the unit something that is assigned in the encoding section or the authoring section? How do I set the unit number and What would be considered a unit #?

I'm really stumped and need help. Any help will be appreciated.

    Thank goodness for DVDRHELP.

    Tkanks

  2. I just read a smiular situation and the suggestion was to disable one of the other writing device. I don't have another device. I do have a question about the one I do have. It a I/O and its installed as drive E:\ every where I see any information I see it as E:\DVD RW IDE1004. When I'm using TMPGEnc Author the unit is identified as E:\DVD RW IDE1004 0039. Where does the 0039 come from could this be the trouble if so how do I remove it?

    HELP PLEASE

  3. Barney,

The 0039 is most likely the firmware revision of the DVD burner. I don't think the identification of the device like so is the the problem.

However, you may want to try updating the firmware of the drive to see if that fixes the problem. You can usually go to the drive manufacturer's website and download the update.

    Good luck.
