Has anyone tried one of these, was wondering if there was a reason not to buy one? My mother might want to upgrade to a newer computer as her old one is pretty slow with minimal memory. I know her old one could be fixed up, but just kind of wanted something faster just to plug in and use for her for around $400-$500.

Also as I have never had anything but a Pentium, what is the advantage of these over the Celerons? Thanks!

I believe the Pentiums have a bigger cache, which would result in faster operation. I know of a few people who have bought these with no problems. Always with a used machine, you are taking a chance. Depends on their warranty. With Dell, a lot of their machines are business exchange, so they may not have the same abuse as some of the home used computers.

  6. Some are just returned shipments that were new & not used just returned.

At Office Depot yesterday & today too, I bought one, it's a sale on a 2.7 ghz Compaq, no monitor ( but you can get a $50 rebate on a monitor), free canon i250 printer after rebate. Computer is $449-$150 OD rebate (rebate on OD dot com) $50 Compaq rebate, $20 off $100 coupon if you can find one. This computer is 1010nx. Really nice, has one memory chip so easy to put in another one. Its about $260 after rebates & tax.

Thanks guys! BJ_M these deals you listed I assume they are new computers, aren't they? And what's the difference between buying a Dimension 2400 from Dell's Small Business Division and their Home Division or is their a difference?
