When I convert avi files using tmpgenc i have recently discovered a problem with larger files that need to be split into 2 mpeg files at conversion. The second file then has video and audio out of sync, the video seems to stop for 2-3 seconds before starting while the audio part starts immediately. This only happens for the respective second part of the files, never right from the start. I have tried to split the avi file and convert then, the result is the same ie. the second part has the problem. I have checked with gspot and virtual dub, the files are okay.
Anyone know why this may be happening?

I have the same problem the only solution I could come with was to split into many pieces (6) before encoding. (also are you splitting before or after encoding) When I split into many pieces like this I only seem to get audio out of synch in one of the sections and it generally occurs near the end of the section. It seems to isolate it to only this section.
