I have an anime series like 100+ episodes with .avi files and was wondering if it was possible to put like 20 episodes on a DVD and play it on a DVD Player?

Putting 20 episodes on one DVD might not be a great idea if you want them to look good.
Other than that, read the guides on this site regarding CONVERTing, AUTHORing, and BURNing.
