I have a gforce 6800 gt and according to nvidia's specs this card is HDTV ready. Does this mean that I can somehow watch HDTV on my PC with this video card?

Hello,
I believe all you need is a hdtv antenna to receive the broadcasts.

You need a hdtv digital card also, https://www.videohelp.com/capturecards.php?CaptureCard=&hdtv=1&searchconnection=Any&pri...&Search=Search , that can capture the digital stream.

"ready" usually means you need a decoder to view HDTV.. if it were an HDTV turner it would say it as thats a huge marketing point. you need a seprate decoder card.
