  1. someone please help me i am new to all this movie burning and have no idea what i am doing. this is as far as i've got. i have direct connect and i've downloaded movies, i can play them on my computer but thats as far as it goes. i don't know what to do after that. do i convert them and if i do to what? i have a sony five disc dvd player and want more than anything to be able to watch movies on my player intsead of my pc. please if anyone can help me i would greatly apreciate it. i know there isn't much info here but i can provide more details to someone who can help me. thank you -meg

  2. Read the convert avi,dv,divx. use tmpge,its the best freeware. just as good as panasonic.

    First you need to check if your DVD player is able to play VCD's. Not all DVD players can do that.

    You can download TmpegEnc, it is free. Use it to convert your file to vcd compliant. You can read about it in the how to section. If the files you download is in a format not supported by TmpegEnc, you got some more readings to do in the How To Section.

    I assume you have a CD burner. You can use Nero or Adaptec CD Creator 5.0 to burn VCD, so you can watch it with your DVD player.
