Panasonic E10 and E20
Pansonic, TDK, CompUSA, Verbatuim all good -R's, no probs
Ritek Horrible, will always lockup player on 1st try, after that OK.
Magnavox 635
verbatuim, Philips, Verbatuim, Kymedia, GQ work fine in +R or +RW -
i have the mico r311 recorder....records on packard bell +rw and imation + r no problem......both types of disc play back in my Cyberhome CH-DVD400 with out any problems.....

Panasonic E-50 is wonderful and I only use TDK -R. This TDK is the one in the Orange box, which i always get as a 5 Pack. This works perfect and NEVER a problem. This is the best,in my opinion!

Panasonic E50 and E80H.
I've only had problems with Memorex DVD-R's -- won't touch those ever again.
I took some folks up on their advice to try the CompUSA 1x DVD-R's, and they have worked flawlessly. Highly recommended.
I've tried quite a few other brands -- Fuji, TDK, Maxell, etc. No problems with anything but the Memorex.

"thoots" Just to let you know "KHypermedia" is the same DVD-R's they have the same case's as Memorex and had the same problem's Memorex. There from the same factory. I had problem's when I had my Sony DRU500A but Pioneer can burn them fine.
Office max and Microcenter sell "KHypermedia" -
Just got my E80H and I got very lucky I can burn KHypermedia. Seem's weird that some people can not burn some media and other can with the same model's.

its only a name on the media. sometimes the brand companies contract out to other companies to produce their discs. for instance, i just bought two ten packs of TDK in the individual packages from staples ($15 per 10) that were made in japan, more than likely by taiyo yuden or mitsui. on the same exact shelf with the same exact color packaging colors, etc. were spindles of 25 count TDK made in taiwan (which is a real no-no).Originally Posted by spiderman2k1

EDIT* just noticed this was the recorders not writers section, MY BAD*
The 1st and only disc that my standalone does not recognize
was RICOHJPNR01
(IMATION 4X dvd+R) tried burning 2.4x and 4x in Nero (no disc, works on pc) I bought a 5 pack and burned 2 discs and both refused to work!
but strangely enough the Memorex dvd+r of the same mediacode
worked like a charm (burned at 4X speed).
Other working ones
CMC MAG. AF1
MPOMEDIA001
MCC 002
DATATRAK001
RICOHJPNW01
My burner is LG-GSA4081B, my standalone United DVD4062m (el-cheapo brand)
As you can see I've not experimented with a lot of media (yet)
Strange thing about the Imations IMHO. -
I use Memorex Whit my Panasonic E80H all the time! Never Any problems!Originally Posted by thoots

You're one out of a million, most everyone I know have problems with Memorex disks. Maybe if you try the disks out in several different players you might see why most people dislike this brand.

"ejai"
If the player can burn them you wont have play back problem's with Memorex or KHypermedia. When I had the Sony DRU500AX it could not buner Memorex or KHypermedia always had a crash making error. And lot's of Coasters. I also have a Pioneer AO4 that burn's Memorex or KHypermedia with no problem's and these disc play back in ever DVD player I have with no problem. You're one out of a million, most everyone I know have problems with Memorex disks. A really good burner will burn cheep media with no problem's. -

why would anyone purposely buy cheap media?? it will be a huge regret in 3-6 months time, maybe a year. its no different than cheap media cd-r that will not load or read a year later....A really good burner will burn cheep media with no problem's. -
"the phantom" I still have cheep cdr that are six years old still working. When you have a good burner the laser is hotter and make's a deep burn
-
As I posted in another thread, finalized Sonic DVD-Rs from shop4tech are virtually un-readable in my Panny E80. They are cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for in this example.
-
This is actually not supposed to happen. However, I think my 105 does it. It will melt the dye of an Optodisc 4x disc instead of burning it.Originally Posted by spiderman2k1Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Any one remember GoldenHawk software LOL there was a setting to handle jitter's. Also if you do not like cheep media that's fine but I would still like to have a burner that's able to burn cheep media. This tell's be the burner can handle burning jitter's and avoid error's. Then just burn good media. I better a burner that burner cheep media will last longer then a burner that can not burn cheep media
When I had my first CDR burner I had a Ricoh 2600A it was only able to burn at 2X. I had one for one year alway's gave me problem with cheep media and the burner die after a year. I brought it back to the store for a new one.that one die after a year as weel. I then bought HP this burner can burn cheep CDR's with no problem it's about four year's old still burning with no problem's. -
This statement is untrue most problems are noticed after attempting to play the disks back in other players. Burning has never been a problem in most cases, play back was the true test.Originally Posted by spiderman2k1

"ejai" All my DVD-R play back in all my DVD player's fine Sony JVC Pioneer APEX. The only time I ever had play back problem's is on X-BOX and my friend's PS2 but my two PS2 play back all my burner's fine.

I have a Cyberhome DVR-1500, and it only records on DVD+R/RW media, and so far I've had great luck with everything I've tried except one. I bought a 50-stack of Imation DVD+R's at BestBuy, and they wouldn't read in the machine at all. It just acted like they weren't there. They come in a square box that contains two 25-spindles. Here's a link to the BestBuy site. I traded them in for FujiFilm discs that work like a charm. They list for the same price, but I got a rebate on the Imations, so the trade for the Fujis did cost me a few bucks.

I'm glad it worked for you but most people still have problems with Memorex dvdrs, just check the forums. 8)

Well... I used Memorex 4x -R (ProdiscS03 bar code 34707 05552) in Panasonic DMR-E80H and it worked
Pinnacle Studio 8 and DV home video editing (ver.9 already home) -
TDK's have given me about a 10-15% failure rate in the E80 (not great for a highly touted brand). Verbatims have been much better (one coaster out of 75 burned). I have started using CompUSA's recently and they have performed flawlessly so far.

Brand doesn't mean anything if we don't know the MEDIA ID codes.Originally Posted by RafaelWant my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Yes. Please check the forums. Do a forum search with the words 'Memorex' and 'Indolikaa' and peruse the results.Originally Posted by ejai
I have burned literally hundreds of Memorex DVDs, including a quintet of DVD+RW discs that have been rewritten over 100 times and are still working fine. I also use Taiyo Yuden, Sony and Verbatim, but I love Memorex. I had a short-lived experience with some bad Memorex DVD-R discs, but haven't seen any issues since.
I have tried the DVDs in many players. There are eleven different DVD players in my own family. Some of these discs were used to test a variety of machines at the Ultimate Electronics in Chandler, AZ, in December. They all worked fine; we noted two machines that wouldn't play the DVD-RW disc in the floor models but they wouldn't play pressed DVD-9s either.
Now, if you want to talk about Princo...
Actually, they work for me, too.
