  2. yes Memorex really suck for me too. I have Pioneer DVR-A06 and standalone Pioneer DV-350s.

I can burn anything, but Memorex won't play in the standalone. Even Princo play nice, but Memorex = NO NO

Guys... be more specific... this is not going to help anybody. Manufacturer ID and Bar Code from packing will be great.

    I agree. Imation +Rs don't work on the Cyberhome 1500. Thank God I only bought a 2-pack.

Nashua, Memorex, and Sony +Rs have worked for me on the 1500.

This is actually not supposed to happen. However, I think my 105 does it. It will melt the dye of an Optodisc 4x disc instead of burning it.
You must have used DeepBurner for that one...

  6. Pioneer 310-s i have and have only used Memorex DVD-RW so far with lots of luck. I have also been passing around these discs to the guys at work and they've worked every time. Hope that helps ya.

  7. Verbatim Datalife +R (4x) record fine on the Cyberhome 1500, but they have not played on any of my 4 dvd players OR my HP300i PC burner. So far Memorex +R worked great - and so do the +RW discs that came with the drive.

  8. I've ordered a Pioneer 310 S and have been reading all these reviews about the types of media that record or not. Am I right and saying that it largely depends on the RECORDER itself as to which media works and which don't? It appears that one 310-S will and another won't record using the identical DVD media.
Sooooooooooo, those of you that have a 310 S, what do YOU suggest I buy to start off with as a NEWBEE to DVD recording?
I love this site and the information is great. Now I need to find a DVD recording dictionary to decifer all the terms and abrevations, IDEAS there?

    Thanks for the help.

Actually, I did a check and most people say the AF1 4X work just fine in A05, A06 Pioneer, Plextor, NEC, etc. Some people with Sony and other drives report problems. I guess it depends on your recorder/burner. They work just fine in my E80 Panasonic and Pioneer A05. So good in fact that I bought another 9 5 packs from Futureshop this past week as they were on sale for $8 a pack.

  11. I've tried burning Memorex 4x-R disks.

I had two coasters out of 5, and Future Shop is giving me trouble returning the 2! I bought 5 spindles of 25 at the same time, and luckily never opened them. I took them back yesterday.

The Memorex disks screwed up my E50, and I had to do a 'pull the plug, wait a minute and then put it back in' to get the disks out.

The recorder would just sit there, not responding, when some of the Memorex disks were in there. The odd thing is that the finalized ones seem to work fine, and have no problems, even in my -RV31K.

  12. Panasonic E50. I use Princo 1X white-top DVD-R (56 cents each). It loves them. Haven't tried any other brand except Panasonic DVD-RAM which it likes also.

  14. I forgot to add that I have tried several hundred of the Princo 1X Logo DVD-R and they seem to be vastly inferior to the Princo white-tops - at least with my burner (LF-D311). Out of the 1000 or so white-tops I've burned I've had maybe 10 coasters compared with dozens of the logo blanks. Maybe because of reflectivity or something. I've read that the DVD-RAM/DVD-R mechanisms are more sensitive to reflectivity issues than the other drives.
