  1. I just converted a avi file to a mpg2 svcd file with TMPGEnc
and if i try to open this file in Virtual dub i have this message :
No video frames found in MPEG file.

What it this means and how can i fix this ?

Use Vdub mod - vdub doesn't work with mpeg2.

    Slower at what ?

And lets go back to the beginning. Why are you trying to open this in vdub after you have encoded it ? You're best off editing prior to encoding if that's what your doing.

  5. Slower at playing the video
it is almost like i would play the video in slow motion
but if i play it in windows media player il play at a normal speed

The problem that i have with this file is that the audio and video is out of sync. I read a guide that told me that i must use VirtualDub to be able to identified how many millisecond the audio is behind of the video. So i want to correct the problem but i could not open the avi file with it. So i try to convert the file and then after correct the problem.
I hope it is more clear now.
    Thanx for your help

I'm not sure - my vdub analyses movies in about 15 mins or so

a little. Is the audio out of sync on the original ? If not then its a problem with encoding.

Why can't you open the avi in vdub ? what errors do you get ? much better to do any editing prior to encoding.

what video/audio codecs are used here ?

  9. The codec are these (from AviCodec)

    File : 633 MB (633 MB), duration: 1:48:01, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 45 %

    Video : 608 MB, 788 Kbps, 29.970 fps, 512*384 (4:3), DIV3 = DivX v3 MPEG-4 (Low-Motion), Supported

    Audio : 24 MB, 32 Kbps, 22050 Hz, 2 channels, 0x161 = Windows Media Audio V2, Supported

I cannot open it because when i try i got this error message
Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'DIV3' (Microsoft High speed MPEG-4 V3 [Hack: DivX Low-Motion])
VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable.

    Any suggestion ?
