Has anyone any experience with burning a bin/cue file using DVDDecrypter?
I burned a VCDEasy bin/cue last night using DVDDecrypter 3.2.0.0.
This may sound a strange thing to do but VCDEasy doesn't support USB2 & eventually I want to be able to replace my CD writer with a DVD writer but have the software ready before I buy a DVDR burner.
It all seemed to go well but the VCD won't play in my stand-alone. The directory structure seems correct and the avseq01.dat file plays fine in Windows Media Player. Any ideas anyone?

Tried it in a different player ?
Tried burning the same file with another program like nero ? -
Nero 5.5 works fine with my USB2 housed CD burner and bin/cue files but doesn't burn DVDs (at least I haven't found a reference to DVD burning in the menus), you have to upgrade to version 6 for that and I'd like to stay with the freeware tools and to have to use as few tools as possible.
For my money, the reason for the faulty VCD is that DVDDecrypter isn't writing the mode 2 track properly, I reckon it is writing the AVSEQ01.dat file as mode 1. Any ideas how I verify this?
It just raises suspicion that DVDDecryptor still has a bug and I shouldn't buy that burner just yet if this is my program of choice.
How do we bug report?
However, you just can't get away from the fact that DVDDecryptor is a pretty goog piece of kit.

The drop down list box isn't there, I specifically looked for it. When did this feature appear? I'm running 5.5.10.48 (I think), I've just down loaded 5.5.10.54 which I'll try tonight.
I notice that the GUI on DVDDecrypter has also changed, the screenshot

(from https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/120013.php)
shows under "settings" "data type" - MODE1/2048, which is absent from 3.2.0.0. -
emailed [email]support@/tools?tool=53#comments]dvddecrypter & got a really quick reply:-
Its not to be used for bin/cue files.
Thats why 'cue' isnt a supported format.
A vcd / svcd has 2 tracks, my program would burn the bin file as 1.
Use Nero or something to burn the image.

Subject: Burning bin/cue files
Hello,
I burned a VCDEasy bin/cue last night using DVDDecrypter 3.2.0.0 and a CD
burner housed in an external USB2 box.
It all seemed to go well, the directory structure seems correct and the
avseq01.dat file plays fine in Windows Media Player, but the VCD won't play
in
my stand-alone.
Perhaps the reason for the faulty VCD is that DVDDecrypter isn't writing the
mode 2 track properly, I reckon it is writing the AVSEQ01.dat file as mode
1.
Any ideas how I verify this and correct the problem?
Does this program write DVDs if I change the external USB2 CD writer for a
DVD
writer? In other words, does it support USB2 external drives?
Thnx

The fall back position I have is that a copy of Ulead DVD factory shipped with my Hauppauge PVR supports USB but I dislike skins and so called 'user-friendly interfaces', I'd much rather use generic tools.
