DVD Recorders that edit out Commercials

1.Do/Are there set top DVD Recorders that while recording a show one can pause it during the commercials and when the show comes back on continue recording like a VCR?

2. Are there any DVD Recorders with harddrives that will allow one to go back after recording a show to the harddrive and let you edit out commercials?

The panasonic DMR-E80 is what you are looking for I use mine to record edit and record to dvds like a vcr but much better quality.. 8) 8) 8) 8)

I think pretty much all of them are able to pause during recording, the only exception I know of is the Polaroid recorder.

Have any idea if Tivo will come out with a recorder that will let you edit out the commercials?
