Hi
I am trying to create SVCDs
I use a Hauppauge WinTV PVR card to capture Mpeg2 files at 480*576 2.3K bitrate. the files are fine. When i bring them into Nero 5.551 it tells me that the mpeg is not compliant due to Stream Encoding ?. If i choose to re-encode it then the output is very jerky/ blocky and the audio is out of sync. If i choose to ignore the re-encode option then Nero creates a file of about 1GB ? (hard to fit on a 700mb CD!). I have tried on both my PCs with the same result.
All i need to know is how to make the incomming Mpeg compatible with what Nero expects, or how to make nero write the existing Mpeg correctly.
Thanks

SVCD Specs require a 480x480 file, if you can't produce this then I'd suggest capturing to an AVI with vDub then converting to MPEG 2.

Actually it is 480x576 in the PAL tv format.
Have u got the mpeg editor downloaded from http://www.hauppauge.com?
I think you need to demux the file before nero will accept the file. There was another thread that went into detail about it.
Do a search in these forums for Wintv pvr.

To make the mpeg2 svcd compliant "just" follow this
http://www.vcdhelp.com/bbmpegedit.htm (ignore the cutting part)
it will not reencode the mpeg2 it will just add compliant svcd settings to the mpeg2 so you can add it in nero. -
Thanks guys
gonna go do what u suggest now.. i will let u know
thanks again for the quick response
