  1. i am a total noob and have been pulling my hair out trying to convert downloaded video clips so i can burn them to dvd. TMPGE wont even open them. i have read the guides but i guess i am missing something. thank you for the help.

    DIVX? With AC3 audio? First, you have to indentify what type of file you have. Gspot or AVIcodec are two necessities for this type of information. Then you find the appropriate 'Guides' to the left.

  3. gspot says mpeg4, tmpge gives me an error when i try to open it. im sorry, but ive been ruining alot of discs.

    You are probably trying to do similar to this post: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=208845 Spend some more times with the guides and read some of the other posts here. Also a forum search is valuable when you have a specific question.

  6. Could you tell us the audio? Try frameserving from VDub to TMPGEnc.
