    Hi.

I captured some clips using Adobe Premiere Pro 7.0, and would like to extract the timecode from the first frame of that file.

Is there any software out there that is able to read the timecode of an .avi file, which holds captured DV material?

    Many thanks.

    Thanks a lot!

However the only software, which is able to rename existing .avi files with DV content is DVdate. Unfortunately, it doesn't allow full control of the format used for date and time. It always adds "ddmmyyyy hh.mm.ss", which is not according my requirements.

Do you know any other software, which allows to rename an .avi with DV content having full control of the datacode format used for renaming?

    TIA

allows many different formats & options .. a great little tool

not sure what you mean by renaming though, but this tool will create a new avi file for you from your original + the added time stamp

I had already a look at this tool. It really looks great, except that it crashed when you press "Help" inside the Datacode custom format requester.

However this tool doesn't allow renaming of the .avi filename. It adds (very nicely!) the datacode to the .avi.

Unfortunately not what I am looking for ;(

    Thanks.

  5. yeah, on the crashing, I am using the older version DTS (date time stamp)...you might want that one (email the author & I'm sure he can get it to you)...what are you looking for in renaming the avi file?

    Hi geohei,

Maybe DV_Datecode will do the trick for you...
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

Thanks for the hint, but also that one makes a lot, but no rename.

I guess I have to use DVdate combined with Siren to rename the clips according my requirements.

    Many thanks.
