  1. Is there any way a dvd can be played on a regular cd-rom drive? There must be some kind of software that will do this, right?

  4. Kdiddy, no need to be so harsh... This is the "newbie" forum after all.

skip2002, DVDs are NOT CDs. They just LOOK like CDs (in that they are an optical medium on a 12 cm diameter disc), but they are completely different. Hence the existence of "DVD-ROM" drives for the PC.

No DVD will ever play on a CD-ROM drive.

It is OK vitualis my "GANK" (to use the language of today !)

Apologies to skip2002 it was uncalled for.
The comment was uncalled for and i retract it.

I use to believe the were - NO STUPID QUESTIONS - JUST STUPID ANSWERS

But after seeing some of the idiotic crap that is posted i stand corrected. Being new to the digital video thing myself i seek answers but i also have found plenty of help/info by just doing my own research with a simple tool called a "search engine" (google - works the best)
When i first started this video gig i was refered to this site. I spent hours reading the tutorials and other links and find it frustrating when others cannot seem to click on a simple HOW TO.
