  1. I'm trying to make a perfect SVCD and using a CD-RW as a test disc on my Apex AD-703 (3-disc changer) so I don't have to toss any CD-R's.

    My question is, does using a CD-RW for a SVCD alter playback in any way? Like does it cause video to stagger or slow down? Or is it just my DVD player that is making it do that?

    The SVCD plays fine in my computer's CD-RW drive via PowerDVD (3.0). But when I play it on my Apex, it get's all slow and it cuts off the first 2 seconds or so of video and audio and totally cuts off the last 3 seconds of video and audio (it even does this in PowerDVD so it must be the way it was made).

    Anyway, I am using the following:

    Premiere 6 --> TMPGEnc --> demuxTMPGEnc --> muxBBMPEG --> create bin/cueVCDImagerGUI --> burn cueNero

  2. P.S.

    The clip is only 9 seconds long... hehe...

    And my DVD player perfectly recognizes it as a SVCD and it says the following which I don't know what they mean:

    PBC
    350 H.Clarity

    Another problem I think it might be is that my bitrate is too high? I set it for 2700kbps max and 224kbps audio, so that also might be it...

  3. Not sure the bitrate should be a problem. I've had problems with crappy quality CD-Rs and CD-RWs where I will get problems, and if I go burn the SVCD on a higher-quality CD-R or CD-RW, the problem goes away.

    Also, I'm not real familiar with Apex, but if it wasn't specifically made for CD-R and CD-RW, there will be some brands it likes and some it doesn't, and you may just have found some it doesn't.

    I assume you're adding the scan data during the BBMPeg muxing.... If not, you should.

  5. Thanks for the responses.

    Hmm... I guess I'll try to use a longer clip and see if that fixes the problem. Yes, I am using the scan data during the bbMPEG muxing.

    Off topic: I want to see the Final Fantasy movie...
