NO!! it's Meritline. RUN, RUN from it!
just do a search on Meritline, you'll see.
go to rima.com or anywhere else! -
I ordered from Meritline last week and they told me the items are on hold. A week later they refuse to refund my Paypal account. And I have called and they keep telling me the order has been cancelled. And the refund will happen shortly. But still nothing. So be Afraid very Afraid....

I have ordered 100pcs printable Ritek G04 DVD-R last week and got it for $93.63 including shipping(use mr10pct code to get 10% discount on Ritek items). The disc has "RIDATA" writen in the center of the disk.

I have no problem with Merilite, when I read the feedback from this site and pricewatch.com , I was scare and confuse. But it turned out I was lucky 2 times
Toss your coin and make your wishes, I think they are better now
But nowaday, I will go to store and check for good deal. Because if you buy a bad one, you have to pay for shipping back and it take some time to get it back. Then you also have to eat the bad one
Good luck, -
I'v been getting there 4x hq discs, they seem a lot better then princo, for my pioneer burner that is.
-
At newegg you can get a 50 pk of g04 1-4x for 46 bucks shipped (free shipping), so naturally it's 92 bucks for 100. They're real ridata discs, says ridata on every one of them and the plastic wrapping of the discs.
-
Yah they may have decent prices, But they are slow at shipping items and never respond to emails.
I ordered some DVD+R and it took over a week before they shipped it,

Yes Meritline can be good at times, but if THEY ever make a mistake you will be the one paying for it.
I ordered the combo package of Ritek 4x DVD-R. The only combo package they have clearly states, "(Silver Matte)" and not (Silver Shiny). What do I get when my order comes? The f*ckin Shiny disc instead of the matte disc I ordered. In order to fix the problem they want my to pay for return shipping and possibly a restocking fee.
Makes no sence that they won't admit fault and fix problems without asking customers to come out the pocket. -
I guess I can call myself lucky
I have yet to have a problem with meritline
I just ordered and received 2) 50 packs of the 'silver matted' discs
for $91.
I order the 50 packs because I like the 'silver matted' ones, once I ordered the 100 pack and got the 'shiny silver' discs. I don't like those, although that is personal preference.
All disc have been Ritek. 50 packs have the Ridata on each disc as well as on the plastic wrap. I cannot remember what the 100 pack was wrapped in, they do not have Ridata on the disc itself but do read Ritek in Decrypter.
Shipping is always quick for me, I get them in just about 7-10 days.
For free shipping, I can live with that timeframe
I switched to meritline from allmediaoutlet for reasons that others state they have trouble with meritline. Poor customer service, long turnaround, bad batch of discs (Princo at the time) and it took me forever to get a credit -- (no refund, credit only, and then only for a small amout of the discs, I think I got credit for about a dozen from a 50 pack).
Again, I guess I can call myself lucky -
I am in the process of returning 50 of the "Ritek G04's", w/ the shiny silver surface, to Meritline.
These disks wont burn past like 3 GB. DVDxCopy Platinum says the burn went OK but when I look at the back of the DVD, 3/4" is not burned.
I just got some real Riteks with the RiData logo on them from SupermediaStore, they work great.... just like the first batch I got from Meritline with the RiData logo...
My advice is that if you can get them to guaruntee that those 100 disks will have the RiData logo, well then $95 is a good deal..
So far the 2 best deals I have come across is
1) ordering from newwgg @ $98 for 2 packs of 50 with free shipping
or
2) RIMA has them for $92 +$5.85 for shipping...
I have ordered a DVD-R sample pack from them which includes 2 Riteks & 5 other brands... if those Riteks are the good ones I will probably order the 100 from them as I have heard good things about them from this site.... -

why don't you buy from supermediastore.com. They have both two types of ritek 4x dvd-r. you can choose matte silver or shiny silver and you won't be confused since it is very clear in the product name what kind of ritek it is. Besides, they offer 60 days money back warranty. If you are no satisfied with ritek for any reason, just return to them and no restocking fee charged. Like that.

I got 4 packs of 25 (i.e. 100 pack) of supposed Ritek G04 printables.
They DO NOT have RIDATA on the hub, but they do have the imprint with all those letters and numbers on the hub.
I haven't put them into DVDINFO yet to see if they read as G04.
ARE THESE FAKE? Even if they say Ritek G04? I haven't burned any since these are for later use.
EVILTWIN: It seems I got the same as you, have these done well for you? Please let me know, I don't want to spend $1 on discs that aren't what I paid for.
Thanks![/i] -
I have Meritline DVD-r setting on my desk collecting dust.
I refuse to use them. -

I ordered from them the first time & their cookie opened info from another dvd site, which costs more, so I think they have more than one store cause both were located in the same city -
Wow. I had a problem with Meritline myself, I had ordered some Optodisc in a 25 pack, but they were bad disc. They looked just like the ones you had in the picture up above, which gets me to wondering if they was really Optodisc in the first place, or some disc that they can get dirt cheap and sell for brand name prices. Thanks, I'm a buyer that's aware now. I won't be buying anything else from them again.

THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER SUPPLIERS OUT THERE. GOING CHEAP IS NOT ALWAYS THE WAY. -
To follow up my own concerns and questions. I finally opened up the white unbranded so called Grade A Ritek G04's and compared it with my "Ridata" stamped G04.
Here are the media codes for both (Ridata on top and unbranded inkjet printables on bottom):
00 6C 00 00 01 40 C1 FD 9E D8 52 00 02 76 0E 14 .l...@....R..v..
88 9A 80 00 03 52 49 54 45 4B 47 00 04 30 34 00 .....RITEKG..04.
00 00 00 00 05 88 80 00 00 00 01 00 06 08 12 11 ................
00 6C 00 00 01 40 C1 FD 9E D8 52 00 02 76 0E 14 .l...@....R..v..
88 9A 80 00 03 52 49 54 45 4B 47 00 04 30 34 00 .....RITEKG..04.
00 00 00 00 05 88 80 00 00 00 01 00 06 08 12 11 ................
The codes are identical, so unless I get coasters out of these, I am satisfied with Meritline's G04s!! -
I will never deal with Meritline after they screwed everyone by selling those fake Maxell discs last summer. After that became widespread knowledge, they changed the name of the discs and continued to sell them under another generic name. Just do a search in the forum for all the posts this summer about it.
To add insult to injury, they wanted people to pay return postage and charged a restocking fee to boot! On my particular return, they claimed never to have even received the discs even though I had sent them priority mail with delivery confirmation. The confirmation number showed it was delivered, but they said they couldn't locate the package. Finally had to just do a chargeback on my credit card.
If Meritline was giving stuff away for free, I still wouldn't be interested. -
Meritline is still passing 4x Ricoh DVD+R as 8x Ritek DVD+R. I haven't received my refund for my return either! It's very frustrating dealing with them. The annoying thing is they don't care that they are scamming. Most of the people who praise Meritline are those who didnt require customer service help for incorrect orders. Don't buy from Meritline!

Man i wish i know this before i ordered.
I just got Ritek +RW Silver Matte, from CDRDVDmedia.com and they have the RIDATA logo but
this is what DVDinfo says
