  1. I know many people don't like DVDXCOPY Platinum cuz of the price. But can someone tell me how the video quality of the backup is? DVDFab claims that there backups are 100% I was wondering if DVDXCOPY is the same?

Well I think they're all 100% picture quality if you don't compress it. But both of these programs can do either. They can leave the image quality at 100% and write to 2 blank DVD's. Or you can sacrifice quality and compress to fit onto 1 disk.

DVD X COPY PLATINUM is pure crap. The video quality is very pixelated and you can't get rid of audio that you don't need like french or spanish dolby 5.1 that can take up to like 300 or 400mbs a piece which can go to the main movie quality if you were able to get rid of the audio. Another thing I notice while I burned dvds with DVD X COPY PLATINUM is that it doesn't use the whole dvd media. If you turn the backup over and look at the bottom where the dvd info was burned it leaves like an inch of wasted space that wasn't burned. Thats like a waste of 500mbs that could have been used. I recomend NERO RECODE, thats what I use now, you can re-author the dvd alot better(getting rid of unwanted audio) and the video quality is one hell of alot better and it makes use of the whole dvd media and doesn't waste it. Theres even a deep analysis option(takes a half hour more but its worth it) which does a second analysis pass on the dvd which improves the video quality alot, it looks just as good as the original dvd. There is also another program called InterVideo DVD Copy Platinum, which I read in this article which they say and show pictures that beat all other dvd transcoders in video quality. I haven't tried it yet but it sounds good. Heres the article http://www.dvd.box.sk/articles8.php
