DVD+R freezing

I have wasted about 40% of a 25 pack of datawrite classsic general purpose DVD+Rs due to them freezing up, usually near the end of a movie. Also, to free up space on my hard drive, I have burned IMG files to them and when I send them back to my hard drive to burn as movies the disc freezes up with about two minutes left to send. My PIO/DMA settings are set to DMA and I have the latest firmware upgrade from Lite ons website. I have tried differant software and the only thing I can think of trying next is new/better media. When I burn to the DVD+RW 4x disc that came with the drive there are no problems. Any suggestions greatly appreciated? My drive is a LITE ON DVDRW LDW-811S. I would like to try a new brand of media.

My fix was to make sure that I was encoding for region 1 only. No others, and not region free. It may be complete BS, but has worked, even with cheap media, though it was only 1 DVD+r that i burned. The 8-10 good disks I burned work perfect, as well.

Get yourself some good media, too.
