I have a question for you guys. I see that a lot of people are using DVD Author to convert there files. I have a lot of mpeg2 files I want to convert but everytime I go to use DVD Author it takes a 1 gig mpeg and says it is to large for DVD. It will make the VOB files like 14-16 gig. Is that normal? Or once done do you use dvd shrink to reduce. Just a curious observance and would really like to get it to work. Any suggestions?

Something is out of whack. TDA (TMPGEnc DVD Author) does not normally expand dvd compliant mpeg files unless it has to do audio conversion - which might add some 10-20%...
but not 1 gig to 15 gigs.
What is the source of your mpeg files and how were they encoded ? -
what was your reason/need for using ifoedit on the already encoded mpg file from TMPGEnc ?
If encoded correctly by TMPGEnc, that mpg file should have gone right in to TDA for authoring/burning..Always check helpfiles/instructions before leaping... -
rcb,
Because I couldn'g get TDA to make video files smaller than about 14 gig. So I just circumvented TDA. I didnt have any other choice. I needed to get them on dvd. I just know it didnt work for me. Will try it again when I have more time. -
Understand.
