  1. Hello,

I'm using the Clip frame option on an AVI I'm turning into an MPG-1 file. My AVI is 640 x 480 pixels. I'm clipping the top of the movie so the size turns out to be 640 x 476. Is there any problem with doing this? I guess the final size of the MPG-1 file will still be 354 x 240? Will there be a distortion problem?

    Any tips on this?

    Thanks

You could encode a small sample and see what effects it has.

  3. Cutting off the top will simply center the video. Try an experiment and cut a lot off the top then encode. The finished VCD will center itself giving black bars at top and bottom. These will be 1/2 the amount you cut off each. So cutting 4 off the top will result in 2 top and 2 bottom black bars. This is with default settings in Tmpgenc of course.

    Good luck.
