I have some MiniDV tapes that were shot in 16:9 on an unknown type of camera. I have a Canon ZR70MC and am trying to playback/cap the video into 16:9 widescreen. It says 16:9 down in the corner when I play it back, but instead of showing it squished as it does when you record in widescreen, it shows it with bars on top and bottom. And when I open Premiere 6.5 with a widescreen project, it still shows the bars, but now it's just squished from top to bottom. I capture in 4:3 and it just captures with the bars.
I would like to just capture the video in 16:9 without the bars, like true widescreen video should be. How can I do this?
Thanks
