  1. I recently added a new hard drive to my computer. So I copied all the files I wanted to keep onto 2 CDRW and 1 DVD-RW discs. The CDRW's work fine, but I cannot get my Pioneer A05 to show the files on the DVD RWdisc.

The properties show Empty Disc, but No space available. I tried it on another PC and it showed up.

When I rebooted my computer with the new Hard Drive Have I done
something wrong, or missed something. It plays DVD films OK with
Power DVD Pro 6, I have just loaded XP office as well.

I used Nero 6 DVD ROM ISO Multisession. The option to finalise was not
given. It was a succesful burn.

The new hard drive is a Maxtor 80 gb. I used the software supplied
Maxblast to install and format the drive as additional to my Samsung 40gb. The new drive is the slave.

I have not used the old drive yet, as I am still setting the new one up.

Can you help, I am a bit of an amature at this.

    Thanks

I don't know why the "successful" burn won't read on your machine.

I would, however, strongly suggest you use the Maxblast disk to remove Max setup and do an fdisk, or use XP's own formatting scheme to format the new drive, as it is a slave drive.

The proprietary setup tools make their own assumptions as to what is proper formatting and they are often not accessible to a plain Windows machine.

If you don't want to do that, drag and drop, or copy and paste the files to the second drive, in a folder of your own naming. They'll be there as long as you like, short of a reformat.

You could try a new burn to RW in UDF, no multisession. Have to try that my own self.

    Cheers,

    George
