I have a 50E and have recorded some TV shows to DVD-RAM. I would like to convert them to DVD-Rs on my computer. I can read the files, but all the software I have is looking for VIDEO_TS files and do not recognize the VR_MOVIE & VR_MANGR files.
Any advice/recommendations appreciated....Thx, JOHN

Some players will play .VRO files, which is the format the E50 uses on DVD-RAM. Mostly it's only PC players like PowerDVD that'll open them, so you can do the following. Some apps will allow this and some won't:
1) Try renaming the file from .VRO to .VOB and opening. If that doesn't work,
2) Try renaming it to .MPG and opening it. If that still doesn't work,
3) Get an authoring app that can read .VRO, like Womble, Virtual Dub or Nero Vision Express. Then burn the DVD files from the app or burn to HD and use a burning app to make the DVD. This is probably the best way to do it but it might cost you some money to get a better authoring app.
You could also rename the .VRO to .VOB and try an app like Vobrator to demux the streams. Then try opening in the authoring app. -
Or search the forum for this but you just need some authoring program that can read from that source disk & youre all set.

TMPGENC DVD Author will read vro files. I do this all the time and author using TMPGENC DVD Author.
