I have encoded several MPEG2 files onto my hard drive. I wanted to remove the commercials in the footage and so I downloaded Womble MPEG2-VCR. I cut out the commercials and then hit 'save' to create a single, commercial-free MPEG2. The window on the save screen indicated that the expected file size would be 1.9GB. This seemed to make sense since the original file was 2.3GB...so it made sense that the file would be a bit SMALLER. However, when I saved the file, the resulting file ended up being 9.9GB!!! Very unwieldy. I did not change any of the output settings in the program...so I wouldn't expect that the program would have to re-render the file. It also took a lot longer to save than I expected (18 min instead of just a few minutes as described on Lordsmurf.com). Any help or ideas here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
