I think i have tried a thuosand different setting but i cant get it right! all my dvd-r is stuttering or slows down a bit about every second when watching on my standalone-dvd, but not on pc. The software i use is
DVD2SVCD
DVD-lab
Burn with Nero
Im only using the mpv and the ac3 files that DVD2SVCD creates to work with in DVDLAB to create menus. I do this way because i want to have subtitles and ac3-sound. I choose to do the subtitles permanent in DVD2SVCD because DVD_LAB canīt handle subs..yet. I have tried to raise the bitrate and it seems better but its not enough. Today i tried to raise the bitrate-settings in DVD2SVCD to:
Max:10000 Min:4000 Min Avg:5000 Max Avg:7000
When importing the files into DVDLAB it calculated the movie to 7268 and the ac3 to 448 and together 7716. Shouldīt this be enough?
I am also using a dvd-rw to check in the standalone-dvd but it is the same problem on a dvd-r. The standalone-dvd is Sony Ns-440 but i have tried on other dvdalso, but the same problem!
Im doing this way because i want to try to have two movies on one dvd-r. And after compiling with DVDLAB its probably too large to fit on one dvd-r but then i try to use DVDShrink.
I have had similiar problems the time when i tried to make ordinary svcd; i used 48kHz sound instead of 44kHz and changed the setting in DVD2SVCD to downsample and it helped.
Please help me! What should i try to do!! Im getting really mad now!!!

I had that same problem when using DVDLab.
I made a homebrew Homestarrunner dvd, and I used the feature of DVDLab that let you use SVCD compliant files when building the VOBs for your DVD. It had to re-encode the audio, but it didnt touch the video.
When I played it in most dvd Players, the audio stuttered bad, the video seemed OK, but the audio was very bad. I was only able to get it to work on one DVD player.
I think it is just a problem with DVDLab. I emailed the author at his website about the problem, and I never got a reply.
Hope this helped,
